May 25 The South Airican cricketers today began a match against Middlesex. Robins, the Middlesex captain, won the toss and sent the visitors in on a rain-soaked wicket, which became increasingly difficult under a sharp breeze. Robins bowled extremely well, but Cameron (40) and Dalton (56) fought hard for runs. Cameron hit two successive sixes off Owen-Smith. The South Africans were all dismissed for 202 runs, and when stumps were drawn Middlesex had lost one wicket for 28.
