MYSTERIOUS FIRE

COUNTRY GROCERY STORE EXPLOSIVES AND BENZINE [from OUR OWN" correspondent] PUTARUKU. Saturday An alleged attempt to destroy by firo a grocery store which is being erected at Tokoroa, 14 miles from Putaruru, was made on Thursday night. Eh o building is being constructed near the post office for Mrs. \. Z. J. Cole, of Tokoroa, and is almost completed. The fire was first noticed by Mi". • Hakes, who immediately summoned assistance.
