RACING CLUB'S END
LAST TE KTJITI MEETING ABSORPTION BY WAIKATO LIQUIDATING LIABILITIES The Te Kuiti Racing Club's meeting, which was concluded at Te jßapa on Saturday, was ihe last to be held by the club which, under the terms of an arrangement for amalgamation, will now be absorbed by the Waikato Racing Club. Three meetings have been held at Te Rapa and a stage has now been reached when the liquidation of the club's liabilities, which, prior to the first of these meetings, stood at £3600, can be completed. The club has been in existence for 24 years. Reference to the fact that this was Te Kuiti's last meeting was made by Sir Alexander Young in presenting the Waitomo Handicap trophy on Saturday. He said he had been asked by Mr. H. Rothery, president of the Te Kuiti Racing Club, to express appreciation of the generous treatment that had been extended by the Waikato Racing Club. The merger arrangements had been conducted under a "gentleman's agreement," there being nothing in writing, and the Te Kuiti Club wished to place on record an acknowledgment of the help it had received.
