A LONDON WEDDING
WRIGHT—MADOCKS The Duke of Gloucester, attended by Major R. T. Stanyforth, was present at the marriage, which took place at Holy Trinity, Sloane Street, on April 30, of Lieut.-Commander Leonard Arthur Herbert Wright, only son of Mr. C. W. Wright, of Saxelbye Park, Melton Mowbray, and Miss Juliet Ann Madocks, of Glanywern Hall, Denbigh, North Wales, only daughter of Brigadier-General W. R N. Madocks, and the late Mrs. Madocks (formerly of Wellington), of Old Basing House, Basingstoke. Canon J. P. Hales officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father,, wore a simple, close-fitting gown of off-white satin, the long train cut in one with the skirt. Her family veil of Brussels point applique was held in place by a halo wreath of white roses and orange blossom. Jack Stewart Clark and Simon Kimmins, in long trousered suits of white satin with blue sashes, were the trainbearcrs. The bride was also attended by three little girls—Sarah and Cicely Cousins (nieces of the bridegroom) and Hugoline Whitelock; and by seven grown-up bridesmaids —Miss Gwen and Miss Margaret Buller (cousins of the bride), the Hon. Jean Williamson, Miss Gill Cowan, Miss Miriam Owen, i\liss Shiela Douglas-Pennant, and Miss Mary Curzon. Lieut.-Commander W. A. C. Binnie, H.N., was best man. A reception was held afterwards at 112 Eaton Square (lent by Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Amery), and then the bride and bridegroom left for Capri for their honeymoon. A great many well-known peopie attended the ceremony and the reception. Among the presents, which the bride received was a Persian rug from the Duke of Gloucester.
