THE NEW CITY COUNCIL
Sir, —.1 notice with alarm the fact that there are so many non-ratepayers returned ns members of the new City Council. Surely tho property owners, who are the backbone of the city, should be the only persons qualified to sit on such an important body as the City Council. I hope tho leading ratepayers will take this matter in hand at once and form a strong association which will protest to Parliament with tho object of having the Act altered. Another Ratepayer.
