THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL

Official .calls were paid to the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, on Saturday morning by officers of the New Zealand Naval Squadron, the Northern Command, and the Hobsonville Air Base of the Royal New Zea-r land Air Force.

Yesterday morning, Their Excellencies attended Divine service at tot.: Mary's Cathedral, Parnell. This morning Lord Galway will pay an official visit to the Devonport Naval Base, leaving the Admiralty launch steps at 9.20. At the conclusion of the visit a salute of 19 guns will be fired by H.M.S. Philomel, and the GovernorGeneral's ensign will be flown at the mast head. Their Excellencies have no other official engagements to-day. To-morrow Lord and Lady Galway will motor to Hamilton, where His Excellency will perform the opening ceremony at the Waikato Winter Show, returning to Auckland in- the evening
