CARLTON CROQUET CLUB

THE ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Carlton Croquet Club was held on Wednesday with .a good attendance of members. The president, Mrs. Hamilton, presided. The' annual report and balance-sheet both showed that the club had had a very. successful year. Great satisfaction was felt at the last big effort of the club, the result being- the final payment of debentures. It was stated that Mrs. Perry had offered to donate another lajge window on the lower side of the pavilion. This offer was carried with acclamation. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Perry, who had audited the books for 21 years. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mrs. Hamilton; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Perry, Shields, Laurie, and Daveyj Ihon. secretary, Mrs. Dukes; treasurer, Mrs. Wilson; match committee, Mesdames Perry, Schubert, Petrie, Baker and Miss Keatley; general committee, Mesdames Savin, Maiden, Bridges, Sykes and Cole; tea committee, Mesdames Bridges and Sykes; green committee, Mesdames Buckle, Hamilton and George; card committee, Mesdames Perry, Laurie, Baker, Dukes and Miss Shroff; delegates to Auckland Association, Mesdames Hamilton, Dukes and Miss Keatley. Mrs. Hamilton presented trophies to the following successful" players for the season:— A championship, Miss Keatley; runner-up, Mrs. Schubert; presidents' handicap, Mrs. Baker; runnerup A Mrs. Dukes; mixed doubles, Miss Keatley and Mrs. Cole; runners-up, Mesdames Roberts and Sykes; A and B

doubles, Mesdames Baker and Miss Waddingham; runners-up, Mesdames Schubert and Alley; B championship, Mrs. Colo; runner-up, Miss Waddingham; B handicap singles, Mrs. Cole; runner-up, Mrs. Alley.' , The following members have promised trophies for next year: Mesdames Hamilton, Perry, Dukes, Laurie, Bridges, Shields, Wilson, Baker and Miss Keatley.
