IMPERIAL AIRWAYS
WELLINGTON PILOT'S WORK
Some little time ago it was reported by cablegram that an Imperial Airway's liner had to go to the nid of another of the fleet, which had encountered trouble on a section of the route between Egypt and India. One of the pilots of the aeroplane which lent assistance and picked up passengers and mails was Flying-Officer I. McNicol, of Wellington, who, on leaving the Royal Air Force, received an important post with Imperial Airwayjs. With headquarters at Cairo, Fly-ing-Officer McNicol is one of the pilots on the section of the air mail route from Alexandria to Karachi. Between each return trip a service to Kenya is also maintained. It is understood that Flving-Officer McNicol is the third pilot from overseas to be taken into the service of Imperial Airways, his record being a particularly fine one in that he has become fully qualified iu every department of aviation.
