YIELDS OF COMPANIES Mataki (Murchison). —Last week, 31oz. for 138 hours' work. Okarito (South Westland). —Last week, 430z. lldwt. for 127 hours' dredging. MOLYNEUX DREDGE The new dredge for the Molyneux Gold Dredging Company, Limited, which is being constructed at Clyde (Central Otago), is now taking definite form. The dredge will be 150 ft. long, with a beam of 40ft-, and depth pf lift. When completed the total weight will be over 375 tons, and the launching of this heavy structure into the sevenknot current of the Molyneux River will be a difficult task. REPORTS OF MANAGERS Moanataiari Golconda (Thames). — The contractors have driven 440 ft. on the cfosscut, thus completing the contract. The hangingwall of the Caledonia reef has just been reached, thus giving the width of the ore body at 23ft. The hangingwall is well mineralised find showing antimony. Golconda (Thames). —The drive on the reef was advanced 6ft., making a total of 105 ft. We are following the footwall portion and it is veering away to the left. There has been a broak in the face and very little quartz is showing, but a few colours of gold have been seen in the quartz close to the hreak. In the Inst boring out we touched quartz with the drill, b'ut do not yet know Whether it is the other reef that is in the wall or stringers running with us. Goldfields Dredging (Shotover, Otngo).—Theye was no wash-up last week as the ground covered consisted entirely of worked areas. Alexander (Reefton), for April.—No. 4 south level: Driving north and south has been continued and 100 ft. driven on the lode to date. In the north end a fault is showing cutting the stone off; prospecting will be carried out here later. In the south face the reef is 2ft. Bin. wide and looks promising for continuing further. No. 5 crosscut is now 31ft. 6in. from the surface, the country being good for driving. A contract haj been let for 900 ft. of crosscutting.. Air and water pipes have been laid and ihe machines installed in the face. The leading stope in No. 4 backs (south end) has been risen for and partially taken off, the .reef averaging about 3ft. Bin. in width. Stone 4ft. wide and lying flat is also being driven out under No. 3 intermediate, and this may lead to something of value later.
