JUBILEE STAMPS
ISSUE IN ENGLAND While New Zealand has its special stamps in honour of King George's Silver Jubilee, England, more naturally, has issued a set in commemoration, which was placed on sale last Tuesday. The set Consists of four stamps, the denominations being one half-penny, penny, penny-halfpenny and two pence-balf penny.
There is a standard design, with the head of the King the central feature. The whole design is surmounted by the words, " Silver Jubilee," in bold letters, while the years of the King's reign, 1910-1935, are displayed prominently. No extreme striving for effect has been attempted in the pleasing design, which depends on the essential fact of the King's reign for its purpose.
