NEW RAILWAY SIDINGS
FRANKTON AND HUNTLY EXTENSION OF FACILITIES Facilities for handling railway traffic at Frankton are being improved by the provision of two additional loop sidings on the west side of the yard. The work has been in progress for about two months and is expected to bo completed within a fortnight. About 50 waggons can bo accommodated on each of the now sidings. Development work on a more extensive scale will be commenced at Huntly in a few weeks. Increased siding accommodation will be provided on the west side of the line at the southern end of the station. This will give additional accommodation for 189 waggons, apart from two through sidings. The additions have been necessitated by the use of longer trains since the advent of K engines and by increased traffic being handled by the railways.
