PHENOMENAL BOWL IN G i, . . DACRE MAKES CENTURY LON PON. May 10 In the county cricket match at Lord's between Lancashire (1934 champions) and Middlesex, who finished tenth, there was some phenomenal bowling. That by It. W. V. Robins caused the defeat of Lancashire. Ho only began to bowl when Lancashire had scored 52 in the second innings. He then took five wickets for 10 runs, in five overs, and the northern side was out for 78. The task of Middlesex looked easy (57 being required for victory). but It. Pollard in five overs also took five wickets for 10 runs. G. E. Hart and Robins then managed to hold up their ends, Robins making tho winning hit for six. Glamorgan, who earlier in the week had defeated Sussex, followed up this success with a first innings victory, at Neath, over Yorkshire, the 1931-2-3 champions Following are the details of the various matches: — LANCASHIRE V. MIDDLESEX Lancashire: First innings. 163 (Sims five for 46); second, 78 (Robins five for 10). Middlesex: First innings, 185; second, five for 61 (Pollard five for 21). Middlesex won by five wickets. WORCESTER V. SUSSEX Worcester: First innings, 291 (Walters 113; James Langridgo four for 28); second, 160 (Tate five for 30). Sussex.: First innings, six for 537, declared (J. Parks 118, Cook 96, H. Parks 87 not out). Sussex won by an innings and 86 runs. GLAMORGAN V. YORKSHIRE Glamorgan: First innings, 270 (Smart 91; Bowes seven for 89); second, four for 211, declared. Yorkshire. First innings. 262 (Sutclitfe 135 not out); second, three for Glamorgan won on the first innings. GLOUCESTER V. OXFORD UNIVERSITY Gloucester: First innings, 460 (Dacre j.IOB, Barnett 90, Hammond 66); second, se"en for 240,. declared (Hammond 71). Oxford University: First innings. 886 (It ' Kuupton 160); second, five for 126. The niatch was drawn. It was not a county championship fixture. Lancashire has decided to resume its fixtures with Nottingham in 1936.
