CANTERBURY EXPERIMENTS PROTESTS AGAINST CESSATION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] ASHBTTRTON, Saturday It is reported that the Government intends to suspend experimental irrigation work on the special farm at Seafield on which operations have been proceeding for three years. The Ashburton County and Borough Councils, the Agricultural and Pastoral Association, the Fanners' Union and the Chamber of Commerce have telegraphed to the acting-Prime Minister, Hon. E. A. Ransom, protesting against the proposal to cease the experiments and emphasising the value of the work to agriculturists.
