FATAL COLLISION

MOTOR-TRUCK AND CAR man dies of injuries ACCIDENT NEAR HAMILTON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday The death occurred in the Waikato Hospital at an early hour yesterday morning of Mr. Oliver James, aged 28, a farm hand, who was a passenger in a motor-truck that was involved in a collision with a motor-car on the main south road, Te Rapa, three miles north of Hamilton, on Friday evening. The truck in which deceased was travelling was driven by his employer, Mr. Graham Bartley, farmor, of Horotiu. Mr. Bartley's wife was also in the truck. The motor-car was driven by Mr. Robert Clifford Wilson, aged 22, farmer, of Te Rapa. The vehicles met violently in a headon collision, which caused the truck to turn over. The occupants were extricated with difficulty. Mr. James received Bevero head injuries from which he died without regaining consciousness. None of the other occupants of the vehicles was seriously hurt, although Mrs. Bartley received severe shock.

An inquest regarding the death of James was opened before Mr. F. W. Platts, coroner, yesterday, and after evidence of identification was taken it was adjourned. Deceased had no relatives in New Zealand.
