CHAMPIONSHIP FIXTURE RICHMOND BEATS Ml. ALBERT MARGIN OF FOURTEEN POINTS The Auckland Rugby League's decision to play a senior competition match on the occasion of the King's silver jubilee celebrations proved a great success, and a crowd estimated at about 10,000 witnessed Richmond, last year's champions, defeat Mount Albert by 27 points to 13. Beautiful weather prevailed and the crowd enjoyed patches of good football. After heavy rain -Carlow Paik was in good condition*. His try was a clever effort and on two other occasions he paved the way for tries. The best forward on the ground was Lawless, who was in every attacking movement. Satherley and Telford also played well. At halfback Powell was a weak link in the Richmond team. He was repeatedlv caught in possession.
