May 1 Following are the results of to-day's matches in the British hard-court tennis championships at Bournemouth: — Men's Singles.—Third round: Austin beat Avory, 6 —o, 6 —o, 6—2; Farquharson (South Africa) beat Lee, 10—-8, 6—4, 6—l; l'renn (Germany) beat Sharpe, 7—5, 6 —2, 6—l; Perry beat Peters, 7 —5, 6 —3. 9—7. Women's Singles.—Third round: Mrs. Wbittingstall beat Senorita Lizama (Chile), 6—3, 4 —6, 6—4; Miss Stammers beat Mrs. Hopman (Australia), 6—4, 6—3. Men's Doubles. —First round: Farquhanson and Kirby (South Africa) beat Sharpe and Tuckey, 4—6, 9—7, 2 —-6, (\—o, 6 —3; Perry and Butler beat Henderson and Lysaght, 6 —3, 2 —6, 6—4, 6—3.
