VISIT TO AUSTRALIA
JAPANESE ENVOY MR. DEBUCHI'S MISSION (Received May '2, 10.5 p.m.) • TOKrO. May 2 It is definitely announced that Mr. Katsuji Debuchi, formerly Japanese Ambassador to the United States, will go to Australia as a special envoy in return for Mr. J. G. Latham's visit to Japan. Ho will arrive in Sydney on August 15. Mr. Debuchi, who was appointed Ambassador to the United States in July, 1928, began life as a stable-boy. By gathering fuel and cleaning out stables he earned enough money to pay for his own keep, care for his sick parents, and, in addition, to pay his college fees. His education and the well-being of his family were only made possible by working early and late at any jobs available.
