SOUTH ISLAND VISIT ENDS [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION-] D'tJNEDIN, Thursday The Governor-General, Viscount Gahvay, and Viscountess Galway, entrained this morning for the North. Prior to their departure His Excellency received the Rev. Dr. J. Dickie, Moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly, who presented an address of welcome. Their Excellencies will arrive back in Wellington to-morrow. BBIUF STAY AT OAMARU WARM* WELCOME AT STATION [BY TELEGRAPH—-PRESS ASSOCIATION] OAMARU,' Thursday The Governor-General, Viscount Galway, and Viscountess Gahvay, having expressed the wish, to meet citizens of Oamaru ou their way north, the Oamaru railway s sation was crowded with townspeople tills afternoon to greet Their Excellencies ou their arrival. The Mayoress, Mrs. M. F. Cooney, pre* sonted Viscountess Gahvay with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the citizens of Oamaru. In extending a welcome to Their Excellencies. the Mayor, Mr. M. FCooney, ;;aid the people of the district were looking forward to an official ViceRegal vit;ifc. Their Excellencies had already wo a their way into the hearts of the people and he was sure they would as reprenentatives; of Their Majesties render distinguished service in Now Zealand.
Lord Galway, in thanking the Mayor and citizens for the cordis! welcome, said they had already v begun to feel part of the Dominion. Their Excellencies during their short stay moved among the people, and by their gracious kindliness endeared themselves very much to the citizens, who warmly cheered them as the train steamed out.
