TWEED SUITS IN FAVOUR VOGUE FOR BROWN AND FAWN Except for one sharp shower the weather was favourable for the first day of the Avondale Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting on Saturday. Tailored suits in cloth, accompanied by furs, and heavy tweed overcoats with fur collars were worn extensively, while the ever-useful Harris tweed suits were much in evidence. Brown in all the varying shades and fawn were extremely popodar, black being next in choice. Hats in matching materials, or in felt and velour, were in many cases finished with a feather mount or quill, and looked attractive and trim.
