DRAW AT WIMBLEDON
LEADING PLAYERS' STATUS It lias frequently been remarked that the tennis championships at Wimbledon draw only in proportion to the class of players competing each year, but this theory has been discounted ever since the retirement several years ago of Mdlle. Lenglen, it boing considered that Wimbledon without her would never be the same again. However, even without her presence and with the retirement, from singles play of Jean Borotra and the turning to the professional ranks of W. T. Tildon, the meeting still retains its attraction as 0110 of the leading features of the London social season. Even now, two months before the entries for this year have closed, the number of applications for centre court seats is greater than ever, and, as usual, the results will have to bo determined by ballot.
