REPRESENTATIVE SELECTORS ! DRAW FOR SENIOR MATCHES The question of appointing selectors for the representative team was the subject of a long discussion at last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League. Five of the affiliated senior clubs wrote favouring three selectors, while two supported one selector. The Newton Club, in a letter, asked that consideration be first given to the suggestion that no nominee be a member of clubs or of the management committee. The chairmnri, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, said there wan much to commend the suggestion, of the Newton Club, but it was apparent that thore existed a wide difference of opinion. He added that the selection should not be hurried, and as seven nominations had boen received, consideration should be deferred until a later meeting. Mr. Campbell further Btated, that he had reason to believe that at least two nominees would not consent to become selectors. Mr. J. Rukiatai contended that only the most suitable men should be considered, irrespective of club interests. He said that in the past three selectors had given every satisfaction. Mr. W. Mincham supported this view. It was decided to take no action in connection with the Newton Club's suggestion, and the ballot for selectors was deferred until next meeting. The New Zenland League advised that the question of moneys received from the English Rugby League in payment for players taken from New Zealand would bo reconsidered' at its annua) meeting. The Referees' Association advised that Mr. A. Ball had been elected as its representative on the referees' appointment board. Applications for reinstatement were received from C. Watt and C. A. McNeil, and both were approved. The Primary Schools' Committee advised that the limit weights of schoolboys would be 7st 7lb, and the age of the boys not more than 14 yoars. It was decided to arrange a conference with the Referees' Association and all club coaches and teiam captains on Wednesday next for the purpose of discussing the new amendments to the playing rules. It was resolved to play two complete rounds in the stenior competition. The draw for the first series is as follows:—Richmond v. Newton. City v. Mount Albert, Devonport v. Marist, Ponsonby a bye.

It was decided in connection with the senior grade for the 1936 reason to form two senior divisions of six teams each by the following method:—-At the end of the present season, the first five _ teams in the senior grade will form division 1., the sixth place to be found by a playoff between the sixth senior team and the top second division team, provided the club did not hold senior status. The seventh and eighth clubs would form the nucleus of division 11., with four clubs of the second grfide not holding senior status.
