LIBERTY BONDS
REFUNDING OPERATIONS (Received April 15, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, April 15 Mr. 11. Morgenthau, Secretary of the Treasury, announced to-day that the remainder of the outstanding fourth liberty loan bonds, totalling 1,250,000,000 'dollars (£250,000,000 at par), would be redeemed on October 15. Holders would probably be offered the option of accepting cash or other Government securities bearing a lower rate of interest. This completes the refunding operations of the fourth liberty loan, which originally totalled 6,965,000,000 dollars (£1,393,000,000 at par).
