TRADE AGREEMENTS
AUSTRALIA BOUND BY 36 THIRTY FOREIGN COUNTRIES For the information of business men and others interested, the Australian Government has prepared a consolidated summary of the commercial agreements with foreign countries L o which the Commonwealth is a party. This statement shows that Australia is bound by 36 different treaties, with .'JO different foreign countries, in relation to trade and navigation. In most of these, she is merely a party with other parts of the Empire to treaties affecting the whole Empire. Of the 36 treaties, the only one which has been made in accordance with the new policy of the Commonwealth in developing oversea trade relations is that made with the Belgian Government last November to procure a market for meat and cereals in Belgium in return for a market in Australia for Belgian glass.
