WHANGAREI ASSOCIATION [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Monday There was a very large attendance at the annual meetins of the Whangarei Hockey Association, presided over by lilt-. F. Primmer. The annual report disclosed a vary s\iecessful season. In the Country Week tournament held in Auckland the ladies won the Twiname Cup, being runners-up to the Auckland Provincial Cup, and the men the Captain White Clip, jointly held with Waipa. They also successfully defended the Kent Cup in the annual match with Piako. The balance-sheet showed that at the commencement of the season the association was in debit to the extent ol' £45. and the season concluded with a credit balance. Mr. M. J. Bay was congratulated on his inclusion in the New Zealand teams which played against the Australian side. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. W. Jones; president. Mr. F. Primmer; vice-presidents, Messrs. R. L. Goddard, N. Munro; secretary, Mr. H. Patterson; assistant secretary. Miss E. Simons; treasurer, Mr. F. Munro; auditor, Mr. A. D. Jack; delegate to tho Auckland Association, Miss M. White, Mr. L. Kent; ladies' selectors, Mrs. A. McMillan, Mr. H. Hannam; men's selectors. Messrs, A. Mngee, M. J. Bay, N. Munro; recording officer, Mb. H. Hannam! custodian, _ Mr. Hannam. Opening day was fixed for May 3.
