FOOTBALL IN ENGLAND
DOMINION LEAGUE PLAYERS New Zealand Rugby League players in England have shown excellent form of late, and in several matches played in February English papers give prominenco to their doings. R. Hardgrave, who left Auckland recently in company with L. Schultz, the Marist live-eighths, scored six tries for York against Bramley. In a match against liatley, Hardgrave scored two tries. The first, soon after the game started, was a very brilliant effort. In eight games, Hardgrave has scored 12 tries. Schultz plays regularly for York, and is showing good form on the wing. Spillane, the ex-Canterbury fiveeighths, is captain of Urndford this season, and showed splendid form at halfback against AVigan. For Wigan, in this match, G. Innes, the former All Black, scored a very fino try, and received a great ovation from the big crowd present. The best player on the ground was' L. Mason, tlie big Maori forward, who was the pivot of Wigan's attack. Mason is now playing contrethrecquartcr, and one paper describes him as the best all-round player in England to-daj. <>
