SPORT AT RUSSELL TIGER SHARK CAPTURED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] RUSSELL, Thuirsday Fishing from the launch Rosemary, Dr. G. B. Pierce, of New York, captured a tiger shark weighing 6001b. He also secured six striped marlin swordfish, including one weighing 2711b.

TUTTJKAKA LOCALITY FINE SPORT OBTAINED [bv telegraph—own correspondent] WHANGAREI. Thursday The recent successes of deep-sea fishermen at Tutukaka have been substantial enough to recommend the locality as a future deep-sea fishing ground for oversea visitors. Last week three large swordfish were caught by Mr. S. Ellis, of Hamilton, and Mr. Watson, of Suva. The largest of the three was 10ft. 6in. from tail to bill's end. The advantage of v the Tutukaka ground is that it commences about a mile from the wharf, and the recent haul was obtainod about seven miles out.

On Tuesday the launch Meerliou from Auckland, in the charge of Mr. .1. Nicholls, arrived at the iown Wharf, Whangaroi, on its way north for deei>soii fishing. As the result of tho successes reported from lutukaka, the Meerlieu left this morning for lutukaka. After fishing at Tutukaka, tho launch will proceed to "Dcopwater Cove and Russell. '
