Resident of oevonport A res id (.'lit of Devonport tor .'l7 years, Mrs. I}. Hill. celebrated ber 90th birthda.v recently at the home of her daughter, Mrs, R H. Shoppard. Upper Clarence Street. Mrs Hill received many telegrams and letters from ill! parts of . New Zealand. About 40' relatives and friends, including 10 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren, gathered to celebrate the occasion. A letter from the Devon port Congregational Church was read b.v Mr. Blackwood, who referred to Mrs,. Hill > work for the church, and Mrs. Mitchell, president of the Ladies' "uild. made a presentation. A large birthday cake with 90 candles was out > Mrs. Hill ' Mrs. HiH. with her lati* husband and ■.Sjnpjy, arrived in New Zealand from England in 1885.
