OBITUARY
MR. T. DAWSON [by TELEGRAPH —OWX CORRESPONDENT J PALMERSTON NORTH. Thursday The death has occurred of Mr.'. Thomas Dawson, aged 34, whose father served in the Crimean War. Deceased t was born in Canada and educated in England. He joined the Navy at the age of 13, and saw* service in the Chinese station. After 13 years' service he was discharged. Later he came t5 New Zealand, where he assisted in laying the Manawatu railway from Wellington to Palmerston North, afterwards linking Manawatu and Hawke's Bay. After a period in Australia, where he engaged in railway work, deceased returned to the Dominion, cpming to • Palmerston North. In addition to his widow, he is survived by three son 9 _ and three daughters, those Palmerston North being Mr. son, Mrs. F. Mahey and Miss ]sawson.
MR. G. NEILL [by TELEGBAPH —OWN cobbksponde>-t] KOHTJKOHU, Thursday The death has occurred of Mr. pNeili, licensee ot the Masonic Hotel at Rawene. After attending a sports meeting at Rawene yesterday afternoon Mr. Neill became unwell. His condition did not improve and he died early last evening. Mr. Neill took over the hotel three months ages and was prominent in local social and athletic affairs. He is survived by Mrs. Neill.
MRS. E. F. WAKELIN The death of Mrs. Edith Florence Wakelin, widow of the late Mr. John W. Wakelin, of Helensville,. occurred. yesterday in a private hospital. - • Wakelin was the eldest daughter late Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Snel , of Maungakaramea, Whangarei. She took *7,. active interest in Sunday Sehoo and as organist in the An ®, churches at Maungakaramea, two and Helensville. She is survived sons, Messrs. Basil and Everard Jin, and one daughter, Miss Wakelin. «
