NOTED ETHNOLOGIST
VISIT OF DR. P. H. BUCK Dr. Peter H. Buck, the noted ethnologist, who is on a holiday visit to. relatives in New Zealand, is expected to arrive at Auckland by the limited express this morning. Dr. Buck will spend a few days in the city and will be the guest of the Auckland Savage Club at * the Grand Hotel. A special korero haa been arranged by the club in his honour for to-morrow night. Dr* Buck will preside. On Monday night he will give a public liecture in the University College Hall on "The Maori Polynesian." Dr. Buck was for some time with the Bishop Museum at Honolulu whence he transferred to Yale University to continue ethnological research. Towards the end of last year he went to the Gambier Islands, in the Pacific Ocean» to pursue his studies in the field.
