UNIFORMITY IN RULES STANDARD OF REFEREEING . The need for greater uniformity in the application of rules was stressed by Mr. L. Bull, who presided at the annual meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Referees' Association. There was a large attendance of members. Tlio report recorded that the past season was a record in every respect, both in regard to tho standard of refereeing uhd the association administration. It was confidently expected that further progress would bo made, including the winning of higher status by several promising members. The grading committee, Messrs. McCowatt, L. Binns and A. Ball, had been very active and would continue to give particular attention in regard to promotions. Reference was made to the harmony which existed between the controlling committees and tho work of Mr. L. Binns as the of tho Auckland Rugby League on the appointment board was extolled. The thanks of the association to various officers was expressed and Mr. D. Taylor was congratulated on winning the Carey Cup. The association's, cricket team had been successful during the off season. Officers were elected as follows:—President. Mr. L. Bull; vice-president, Mr. J. G. McCowatt; ho*v-y vice-presidents, same as Inst year, with power to add; delegate to iffo Auckland control board, Mr. W. Mincham; delegate to junior management committee, Mr. F. Thompson; delegate to New Zealand Referees' Association, Mr. L. Bull; honorary treasurer, Mr. P. Rogers; honorary secretary, Mr. W. Simpson; honorary auditor, Mr. A. Chapman; executive committee, tho chairman, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and Messrs. A. E. Chapman, S. A. Fisher and M. Wetherill; appointments board, Mr. A. Rae; examination committee, Messrs. J. G. McCowatt and T. Hill; social committee, Messrs. W. Mincham, R. Otto and M. Wetherill. Four new members were nominated. It was decided that the examination committee examino now members in . practice and theory, and assist the appointmentg board when called upon.

CITY CLUB'S OFFICERS There was an attendance of 100 members at the annual meeting of the City Rugby League Club. Mr. W. J. Davidson presided. The annual report stated that although the senior teams had not met with the success aimed at last year, when six grado teams were entered in the competitions, tho juniors did well, the sixth grade team winning the championship and knock-out. The club had a healthy credit balance. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. R. B. Ashby; president, Mr. J. E. Parker; club captain, Mr. B. Davidson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. K. Asher; auditor, Mr, E. J„ Phelan; vice-presidents, same as last year with power to add; committee, Messrs. J. Sullivan, O. Miller, R Turner, W. Syms, J. H. Gallagher, S. Dickie, W. McLean, S. Watene, J. Counihan, W. Drew. f It was decided to have an improved jersey design, and to continue with practices on Saturday. JUNIOR CONTROL BOARD Tho annual meeting of the Auckland Rugby League—-Junior Control Board was held last evening, Mr. D. Wilkie presiding over an attendance representative of all clubs. The report disclosed a very successful year and confidence for the coming season. The executive, based on a vote of the clubs, was re-elected as follows:—Messrs. D. Wilkie, E. Chapman, G. Short. G. Taylor, A. Hopkinson, C. Howe, T. Chermside, I. Stonex. T. Carey. Mr. D. Lane will represent Ponsonby at the meetings. Mr. Wilkie was re-eiected chairman. PRIMARY SCHOOLS' EXECUTIVE The report presented at the annual meet : "ing of the Auckland Primary Schools' Rugby League executive stated that nine teams took part in the championship last season, and seven in the seven-a-side tourney for midgets, this being an increase on tho previous season. Much enthusiasm was Bhown in the play. Avondale won the two main competitions, and Marist, which entered two teams, won tho seven-a-side. Reference was made to the representative teams' tour to Northland, and thanks were extendod to supporters. The following officers ■ were elected:— Patron, Dr. Pezaro; president, Mr. R. E.
