HAMILTON NEWS

A number of tributes, in the form of afternoon t**n parties, ha\e been tendered to Mrs. M. Mailing, a prominent social and church worker, who will leave shortly to make her home in Christchurch. Mrs. Mailing was the guest of the wives of the Hamilton bank managers at Mrs. A. E. Sandford's home on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Sandford presented Mrs. Mailing with a bronze inlaid enamel vase, and wished her every happiness in her new home. Mrs. Sandford wore a frock of flcral maroeain, and Mrs. Mailing was in brown marocain, and a brown straw hat. Those present were: —Mrs. E. C. Sure, Mrs. C. R. Corfe/Mrs. H. Baker, Mrs. A. St. Paul, Mrs. D. Robertson, Mrs. J H. Hammond.

At.a party given by Mrs. C. M. Hume, Mrs. Mailing was presented with an album of Hamilton views. Mrs. Hume was wearing a niggerbrown georgette frock, and the guest of honour was in a brown costume and matching hat. Those present were: Mrs. J. P. Smith, Mrs. A. R. Clark, Mrs. J. Lavne, Mrs. J. White, Mrs. E. C. Day, Mrs. F. Pratt, Mrs. Alan Bell, Mrs. A. W. Gordon, Mrs. F. Grahame, Mrs. Wilfred Johnstone, Mrs. A. B. Why to. Another hostess was Mrs. A. H. Tompkins, who received her guests in a frock of deep violet. The guest of honour was wearing a brown ensemble with brown hat. Those present were: — Mrs. H. G. Sergei, Airs. B. Wilson, Mrs. Alan 8011, Mrs. E. B. Hayward, Mrs. Ensor. Mrs. H. S. Hawkins, Mrs. C. F. F. Clayton-Green, Mrs. Oliver, Mrs. Hall. Miss Koa Tompkins, Miss D. Hall. Miss Wyllic.

Mrs. Harold Baker is spending a few days in Auckland. Mrs. H. E. Gaze and her daughter, Mrs. D. H. Gillies, are spending a holiday at Waihi Beach. Mrs. C. L. Innes and her daughter, Mrs. Harold, left by car for a holiday at The Mount, Tauranga.

The Misses Molly and Lillian Valder joined the Remuera, en route for England.

Mrs. J. W. Ellis and Miss Ellis Rickit on a motor tour of the North.
