CHILD'S FATAL DRINK ' How a four-year-old boy climbed on to a dres&er, took a bottle of rum, extracted the cork with his teeth, and! drank a quantity, which caused his death, was related in the Coroner's! Court recently at Bundaberg, Queens- ; land. The father oi the dead child said that he had taken a drink of rum for a cold, and then went into the cowyard: An hour later his wife told hnn that th« child had swallowed a quantity of rum. The boy showed no ill-effects, ' and walked across to bis bed and feel asleep. Two hours later he began to twitch as though he had convulsions. He died the same evening in hospital. i The doctor's certificate was that .j£: death resulted from alcoholic poisoning through drinking an overdose of
