FARM HOUSE BURNED
TOTAL LOSS SUFFERED FAMILY BUSY MILKING [by telegraph—own correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Monday A six-roomed farmhouse at No. 2 Road, Tatuanui, about seven miles from Morrinsville, was totally destroyed by fire during the absence of the family at the evening milking. The house was occupied by Messrs. Howard and Swede.
The fire had a good hold when noticed, and the men, who ran from the milking shed, were able to save only a few clothes from one room. The house and its contents were insured with the New Zealand Insurance Company, Limited.
OTAKI COTTAGE DESTROYED LITTLE SAVED FROM FLAMES [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] OTAKI, Monday Fire this morning destroyed a fourrooined cottage on the Otalci railway, which was owned b.y Mr. L. T. Kilmister. The building was insured. Practically nothing was saved. The furniture was insured for £IOO. TIMBER COMPANY'S BUILDING FLAMES QUICKLY SUPPRESSED Two brigades from the Central Fire Station answered a call yesterday afternoon to a fire in the roof of the upper floor of the premises of the Kauri Timber Company, Limited, in Fanshawe Street. The outbreak was extinguished without difficulty by the uso of equipment in the building, the only damage being to a wooden ventilator. The cause of the firo is unknown.
