The Harmony of Brick and Tile BEAUTIFUL AND PERMANENT Brick and tile are undoubtedly woven into the warp and woof of the British home character. Sturdy and strong, unpretentious, enduring, yet seemly, how well they portray the best characteristics of our race. Truly it is said "The house has a soul." Therefore let us build truly. Here we propose to treat of our commonest, yet possibly our best —certainly very beautiful and positively permanent—materials, brick and tile.
