v, Sir, —Your correspondent "Milk" Wrs in suggesting that the figures he quoted were referred to by me as "hasty." The epithet was applied to his conclusions, now reiterated. I think my contention was clear, that milk could be cheap in England, where demand exceeds supply, at 6d per quart, and dear in Auckland, at 5d per quart, where the reverse is always the case if so desired, and that the roundsman in England could be better off on a lower wage, if his cost of living is sufficiently less to make him so.
