SUSPENSION OF LICENCE FINE OF £5 IMPOSED [FROM OUR OWN COIUUvSJ'ONDKNT] PUKEKOH'E. Friday A plea that his driver's licence be not cancelled, as lie had to use a motor vehicle in obtaining a livelihood, was made by a rabbit trapper, D'Arcy Hubert Morey, of Razor back, in the Pukckohe Magistrate's Court to-day, when he was convicted of being intoxicated while in charge of a motorcar. The magistrate, Mr. F. H. Levien, said that cancellation for a period at least was part of the penalty now in such cases, and he could make no exception for defendant. His licence would be susixnided for six months. Defendant was also fined £'o and costs, 15s, and ordered to pay the doctor's fee, £3 3s. The offence occurred on Christmas Eve.

Constable Olson said lie followed defondant's car from Mercer to Pokeno. It ivas swerving from side to side of the road. Defendant was driving.
