FEWER BANKRUPTCIES

NORTH AUCKLAND AREA

[from our own correspondent]

WHANGAREI, Friday

The official assignee. Mr. A. L. Tresidder, whose district extends from Maungaturoto to the North Cape, with the exception of Dargaville, reports that last year there were 14 bankruptcies, compared with 16 in 1933. Of the 14 bankrupts five were contractors. In spite of the low prices of farming produce there were no farmers among the bankrupts.
