kisch before the court INFORMATION FROM ENGLAND SYDNEY. Jan. 10 The Czech author Egon Kisch appeared at the Central Police Court yesterday charged with being a prohibited immigrant. The charge was laid under i special clause of the Immigration Act. According tp information received from the British Government Kisch.was alleged to be undesirable as an inhabitant of, or visitor to, the Commonwealth. Mr. A. B. Piddington, K.C., who •gain appeared for Kisch, asked for •ktails, and pointed out that Kisch had been prevented from leaving the country owing to being deprived of his passPort and the return half of his steamer ticket. The hearing was adjourned until January 14 pending the receipt of further details from England.
