MANY HOLIDAY VISITORS

Dr. M. B. and Mrs; Sutrh, of Well- j ington, paid a short holiday visit to j Whangarei. Dr. Sutch is the economic j adviser to the New Zealand Govern-, ment, and is accompanying the Right ( Hon. J. G. Coatcs during his visit to Dargaville. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Given, Pouhiii Avenue, Whangarei, are motoring through the North Island, their tour including New Plymouth. When in New Plymouth Mr. Given, who is a master at the Whangarei High School, intends to study the plants in the botanical gardens of that city. Mr. and Mrs. Chapman, Mastcrton. are spending a holiday at Onerahi and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. V. Wise. . Mr. and Mrs. K. Nairn, \Vallace Street, Whangarei, spent a holiday motoring in North Auckland. Mr. and Mrs., J. Walker, Wallace Street, are visiting Auckland. Mr. Walker is taking part in the Dominion bowling tournament. Mrs. H. Griffiths, Auckland, is spending a holiday in Whangarei and is tlie guest of her daughter, Mrs. M. E. Crimp, Gorries Roach Mrs. J. A. S. Mackay, Three : mile bush, has been holidaying at. Waipn. Mr. and Mrs. I). (VDonoghue, Mdl Road, Whangarei, have left for Napier where they are spending their holidays. „ . . Air. and Mrs. Barclay. Huntly, and Mr. and Mrs. Growcott, Hamilton who are motoring in North Auckland, spent a few days in Whangarei. Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Wilson and the Misses D. and B. Wilson have returned to Portland after spending the holidays at Lang's Beach. Mr. and Mrs. S. Walker, New Plymouth, are staying in Whangarei and are the guests of Mrs. T. Cross. Mr. and Mrs. A. Stewart are visiting Whangarei. Mr. Stewart is headmaster of the Niue and Corporate I. O. Government School and is on furlough. Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery, Ponsonby, are spending their holidays at their seaside cottage on the Ruakaka Mr." and Mrs. L. J. Brake, after several years' absence, hare*again taken up their residence in Whangarei. Mr. Brake was a former Mayor of \\ hangarei. Mr. and Mrs. J. Randal. Ponsonby, are spending a holdiay at Ruakaka. Mr. and Mrs. Prince, Auckland, are holidaying at Ruakaka. Miss C. Kiesey, Perth, Western Australia, who has toured through North Auckland, including Waipoua and Trounson Park forests, stayed a few days in Whangarei on her return to Auckland. Miss N. Wills, Oamaru, is spending a holiday in Whangarei and is the guest of Mrs. C. Clark, Mill Road, Whangarei. "Miss V. Allen. Auckland, is spending a holiday at Ruakaka. Mr. and Mrs. F. Cotton, who for the past six years have been residing in Samoa, where Mr._ Cotton has been teaching under the New Zealand Education Department, are spending three months furlough in Whangarei and the North.

Mrs. H. Wilson, Kent Road, and tho Misses B. and J. Wilson are holidayat Paihia. Mrs. Richardson and Miss G. Richardson, Wellington, _ are spending the summer vacation in Whangarei and have taken up their residence in Hatea Street.
