BOWLING TITLES

DOMINION TOURNEY PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP INTERSECTION RESULTS TWELVE PLAYERS SURVIVE it DRAWING FOUND DIFFICULT The tournament conducted by the New Zealand Bowling Association was continued yesterday, when play was advanced in the pairs championship. Section rounds of four games wore completed early in the morning. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. was devoted to playing of section ties and finding green winners. Afterward the green winners went forward to Carlton and inter-sec-tion rounds were continued until seven o'clock.

The day was bright and warm and «*v alight breeze made the bowling a little tricky on some of the exposed greens. The surfaces were on the whole somewhat faster than on previous days. Heads were well spread and close drawing to the jack was not an easy matter. Two games in the singles championship were staged on the Carlton Club's greens. Squire, of Hawera, was eliminated from the championship by Keatley, of Rocky Nook, and Letham was defeated by Somervell. Both Letham and Somervell are members of the Ponsonby Club.
