WHAKATANE, Thursday In response to a requisition signed by a number of shareholders to the directors of Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company, Limited, a meeting of shareholders was held at Edgecumbe to-day to consider and, if thought fit, to pass the following resolution: —"That the action of the directors in deciding to continue the transport of butter by sea, in defiance of the decision of tho shareholders, as expressed by a special ballot, is indefensible and constitutes a breach of faith with both the shareholders air 4 the Railway Department." A long discussion took place and after a resolution of confidence in tho directors was passed a further resolution was carried that the company should give effect from the end of Juno to the resolution passed by the shareholders two years ago to forward supplies of butter to Auckland by rail.
