AVIATION TROPHY

THEIR EXCELLENCIES' GIFT SUPERB EXAMPLE OF ART [by telegraph—OWN correspondent! WELLINGTON, Thursday The Bledisloe aviation trophy, -which the Governor General, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledisloe have presented to the New Zealand Aero Club for annual competition among pilots of aero clubs, is one of the finest trophies in the Dominion. It recently reached New Zealand and has been received from Their Excellencies by the president of the New Zealand Aero Club, Mr. G. M. Spence. The trophy is a departure from the conventional idea of a cup, and although a removable cup, in the form of a hand-wrought silver chalice, forms the top portion, the silver column on which it stands is perhaps the most striking feature of this superb example of the silversmith's art.
