Permits to export in the meantime will be granted only in respect -of pigs slaughtered on, or before, December 31. V

The notice confirms instructions to the same effect issued, by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board recently, and implements, in the case of porkers, the voluntary restrictions on shipments of meat to Great Britain for the first quarter of this year. The quota for porker pigs has been fixed at 75,0uUcwt. and the effect of the restriction will be that arrivals in Britain during the quarter will be confined to stocks held in the Dominion in December. No arrangements have yet been announced with regard to beef or lamb and mutton.
