COMMEMORATIVE STAMP
THE KING'S SILVER JUBILEE NEW ZEALAND DESIGN CHOSEN [bv telegraph—r It ESS association] WELLINGTON, Thursday A design by Mr. J. Berry, of Wellington, has been accepted for the special series of postage stamps to be issued in New Zealand to mark the silver jubilee of the accession of Their Majesties the King and Queen. The new stamps will be of the same design in three denominations, a half-penny, a penny and sixpence. The design incorporates distinctive New Zealand features in Maori carving and the Southern Cross. The left half of the stamps will carry the portrait of Queen Mary, and the right half the portrait of the King.
