ADVENTIST CONFERENCE

MEETING AT CLAUDELANDS [from our own* correspondent] HAMILTON, "Wednesday The advances made by the organisation during the past year were referred to at the annual conferenco of North New Zealand Seventh Day Adventists, now proceeding at the Claudolands Showgrounds. The president, Pastor H. E. Piper, in the course of tho first conference session, said a total of 175 persons in the conference's territory had been baptised and accepted into church membership, while receipts by tithe amounted to £9700, an increase of £2200. Missions had been conducted in Tauranga, Wangamii, Gisborne, Wellington, Petone, Hamilton, Auckland, Takapuna and Waiuku. ' Devotional and young people's services, and family worship, were held during the day, and * standing committees for the conference were appointed. In the afternoon Miss H. K. Lcwin and Pastor A. G. Stewart conducted a Sabbath school departmental meeting, at which deputations from various centres wero received and given information regarding various problems of Sabbath school work. A series of studies on tho "Epistle to tho Hebrews" was commenced by Pastor A. H. Piper, secretary of the Australasian Union Conference, while in the evening an address, "What Think Ye of Christ? Good Man or God Alan?", was given by Pastor R. Reye, of Samoa, to a large audience.
