DOWNPOUR AT WHANGAREI STIMULATION OF GROWTH [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WHANGAREI, Wednesday The intense heat experienced in Whangarei during the past few days was tempered by heavy rain which fell from two to nine o'clock this morning. The fall was ,71in. The remainder of the day was beautifully fine. The rain will further stimulate growth generally, which this season has been abnormally good.
