BUILDER'S SUICIDE
EVIDENCE OF DEPRESSION
REMARKS TO HIS WIFE
j An inquest into the death of Ste\en Anson Wilson, aged 63, builder, who was found in a dying condition on the back lawn of his home at 12 Cambrai Avenue, Mount Roskill, on Tuesday evening, was held by Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., coroner, yesterday. Evidence was given that deceased had arrived home about 6.30 on Tuesday evening in a depressed mood. To his wife he said: "I think I will go away, i am in a terrible mess. I have spent all my money." About 10 minutes later he was found on the back lawn by his daughter. He was unconscious, and died within a few minutes. About six yards away was a bottle of poison. During the Great War deceased served with the Australian Expeditionary Force. A verdict of suicide was returned by the coroner.
