"FRUIT" MACHINES
WELLINGTON PROSECUTION [by telegraph—press association] WELLINGTON, Wednesday A prosecution, under the gaming'laws was brought against a billiards saloon keeper, Herbert Fletcher Tomlinson, in tho Police Court to-day. The case concerned a "fruit" machine on the premises of defendant, who was fined £5.
It was stated that the machine was in a back room and had been put there by defendant when "fruit" machines were declared illegal. The machine was nob in use by patrons, but was sometimes used by friends of the proprietor..
