MOSTLY FAIR TO CLOUDY

The weather report and forecast for Xew Zealand, issued Inst evening by the Government meteorologist, was as follows: —The depression has disappeared eastward and a slight anticyclone is now advancing on to the Dominion with its contro to tlic north. The outlook is for moderate southerly winds, veering later to northerlies about and south of Cook Strait. Seas in New Zealand waters smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate south-west to west winds and moderate seas. Wonther for the most part fair to cloudy, but a few isolated showers are still likely. Temperatures cool, but rising to-morrow.

YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —Fine weather and a light to moderate south-west wind prevailed yesterday but the conditions continued unsettled. The barometer was rising slowly all day. the rise for the 24 hours being .20in. Tho temperature at 4 p.m. was 78 degrees. Barometer, midnight, rising . . 20.00 in. Midnight, Thursday . . 29.70 in. Wellington.—A few tory light showers fell at Wellington yesterday morning. Although mostly cloudy, the weather was fair. A cool southerly breeze prevailed. Tho maximum temperature was, 64.6 degrees. Christchurch.—The sky was overcast in Christchurch yesterday. The wind was light from the south-west in the morning and from the north-east in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 59.5 degrees. The barometer roso slightly and registered 29.89 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin. —Tho weather yesterday was fine with considerable cloud and occasional sunshine. A light southwest breeze prevailed. The temperature at 8 a.m. was 53 degrees and the maximum for tho day was 58 degrees. The barometer has risen to 29.80 in.
