A SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENT

Sir,—-Js there another area in Auckland with such possibilities of development as the present unsightly malodorous area of ground behind Cox's Creek? The upper gully could be turned into two beautiful lakes and planted like the beautiful park at New Plymouth. The whole area lends itself to artistic useful development. A crowded population at Richmond, Ponsonbv, Heine Bay and Westmere surround it, and as a combined sports ground, children's playing area, picnic, ground and swimming pools it would serve this huge population and prove one of the most popular and attractive places in Auckland. This is work on which the unemployed could be profitably employed. F. H.
